Will i screw myself over if i admit that i love her?

Im 16 soph in highschool and ive been goin out with my gf for 5 months now, i like her A LOT but all i keep thinking about is how im so young and this stuff is ussually talked about by adults. if i do say that i love her what bad things am i setting myself up for?
