How much weight is safe to lose?

i am a 20 year 'old female, i weigh 230, at 5 foot five inches... i have DD breasts (since i was young) and i have a large skeletal frame, naturally. I have started exercise and diet to lose some belly fat as well as inner thigh fat.... as well as everything else i guess. I am fairly strong, and have muscle left from playing sports a year or two ago, but its covered with a layer of yellow body fat......thoughhow much is a smart amount of weight to try to lose?
