I cant figure out the name of this song or the band who plays it! Its driving me crazy!!!!PLEASE HELP!!!!?

All I can remember from the song is the main line of lyrics says 'start a new life'. It also says something along the lines of 'thoughts are goin crazy' or 'losing my mind' ? I also know that most of the song, if not atleast the chorus, is sung with different lyrics in the exact same notes( so if you sing 'new life' in a minor, then b flat, the next set of lines are sung the same way. The a minor and b flat thing is an example. Idk what the actual notes are). Officially the song might be considered in a different genre, but I usualy think of it being in the genre of 'soft rock' or 'alternative rock'. Also, I know the song is NOT sung by van morrison, or reo speedwagon, but it is sung by a male singer. I know this is very little info but please atleast give me some suggestions. Thank you!
